Link Building

Improving a site's link popularity and improving its search engine rankings is an SEO procedure called link building. The most commonly used search engines are Yahoo, MSN and Google, and each of these determines a site's ranking by gauging its link popularity and quality. Google uses PageRank to determine a site's worth, and according to Google, PR is a way to reflect their opinions on a web page's importance. The algorithm uses more than two billion terms and 500 million different variables to come up with a site's rank, and those deemed more important will appear higher in the search engine results.

When we're building your links, there are certain things we'll keep in mind. Link popularity is a fluid thing; the search engines may only recognize some of the links pointing to your site. There are certain types of links that won't pass standards, such as:

* The no-follow link. As a way to deter spam Google created the no-follow link. It was intended to get rid of blog spam, but it has also decreased spam on sites like Wikipedia. Many inbound links have the rel=nofollow embedded in their code, and all of these are ignored by the major search engines.

* Tracking codes allow us to keep track of the number of clicks your ads receive and the number of impressions they get. All but about one percent of banners and context ads use tracking codes. Clicks are tracked by redirect, and it is this that takes away the link popularity before your visitors reach the final URL.

* There are multiple reasons why pages don't get indexed by the search engines. Often, the page hasn't been discovered by the search engine spider. Some webmasters don't want their pages to be indexed, and they include a no-index meta tag, and some pages are excluded within the robots.txt file. In rare cases, pages can get banned from the index altogether.

Your inbound links will have a natural look with a correct link building campaign. The search engines have a radar system to ensure that websites that have been properly created are rewarded. To be rewarded, your site has to have the right mix of inbound links, such as those from landing pages, link growth and anchor text diversity.
